2. Steele Carneros Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay 1995... One of the most surprising Chardonnay's I've ever tasted. The most impressive thing about this wine is its smooth, long, finish. It also helps that it's a single vineyard Chardonnay. The flavors are definitely intense. $24
3. Meridian Edna Valley Reserve Chardonnay 1995... A great wine to have in the fridge. Buy a case of this wine. You won't be sorry!!! Delicious citrus & apple/pear flavors make this wine a must have. $17
4. Stag's Leap Napa Valley Chardonnay 1995... Full bodied with a clean buttery finish. The aromas from this wine make it perfect for a picnic. $25
5. Gallo-Sonoma Dry Creek Valley Chardonnay 1995... This is an estate bottled wine from Gallo. Yes Gallo. The winery has taken great pains to develop its quality line of wines and it has started to pay off. Originally, this brand was only sold to restaurants, but now that the name has shed its previous image, we are fortunate to have access to some the wonderful wines being produced by the "Brothers'" successors. This wine has the potential to compete and win international competitions!!! $16
6. Dry Creek Sonoma County Chardonnay 1995... Wonderfully rich in apricot flavors and lots of buttery oak, this wine can improve, but just slightly with a couple of years of cellaring. Taste it now, go ahead, you have my permission. $16
7. Songmeadow Mendoza Chardonnay 1996... A very light, easy to drink Chardonnay from the Mendoza region in Argentina. There's a reason to like this wine. It's price. $8
8. Caymus Conundrum 1995... A secret hodge- podge blend of California grapes are reason for its name. However, its obvious that this wine is made up of mostly Chardonnay grapes. The crisp flavors and intense aroma give it away. An interesting experiment for anyone. $25
9. William Hill reserve Chardonnay 1994... A delicate, back to basics approach to California Chardonnay. This is the only 1994 I tasted for this month. I was very impressed. William Hill is back!!! $18
10. Glen Carlou Paarl Chardonnay 1996... The only South African wine that's ever impressed me. Light in body, yet full of complex fruit flavors. Long after taste. $15
