Chapter 5

�Emmy, open this door right now,� Ryo yelled. He had quickly lost his temper when the girl refused to come out. True he couldn�t blame her for what had happened earlier but she didn�t have to hide away. Not when the warlords were here to talk to her.

�No!� came the heated reply.

Ryo ran a hand through his hair. He tried to be polite and she had refused. Now she was being unreasonable. Stupid girl, he thought. Maybe if I am polite one more time. He took a deep breath, exhaled and unclenched his fists.

�Will you please come downstairs?� he asked nicely.

�No!� Emmy replied again.

Ryo banged his fists on the door. �You can�t stay in there forever.�

�I can sure can,� she shot back. The music in the room went up so loud the speakers crackled.

Ryo was about to break down the door when Kento stopped him. �Let her be. She�s had a very rough week,� Kento said and led his friend back downstairs.

The other Ronin�s, the Warlords, Kayura and Mia were all seated in the living room. Ryo sat on the love seat next to Mia while Kento sat next to Rowan on the floor.

�It really isn�t that important that we talked to her. I just wanted to see how much of her memory she had regained. From the looks of it, not much,� Kayura commented.

The sound of the toilet flushing and the shower starting up made everyone unconsciously look up towards the stairs. Seeing nothing they proceeded to resume their conversation.

�Mia where are your towels?� Emmy�s voice called.

�Cabinet below the sink,� Mia called back.

There was a slight pause then, �There aren�t any.�

Mia stood up. �I�ll be right back,� she said.

�Invite her to dinner for us Mia,� Cye requested.

Mia nodded and headed up the stairs. The brunette disappeared. Cye looked at his companions. �I guess I should start dinner. What do we want?�

�Pizza!� Kento responded almost immediately. Everyone groaned.

�Kento, we always have pizza. Let�s have something different tonight,� Rowan suggested.

Kento shook his head. �We do not always have pizza. And tonight is a great pizza night,� Kento shot back.

Rowan glared at his friend. �Kento. We. Are. Not. Having. Pizza,� Rowan punctuated each word.

�Knock it off you two. How about I fix something Italian?� Cye questioned.

�Yeah, like pizza,� Kento added. Cye shook his head as Kento and Rowan began to argue.

�I meant like noodles or something,� Cye said quietly.

�Noodles sound great Cye,� Mia said coming down the stairs. Mia stood in front of everyone. �Emmy says she�ll come down only if you guys promise not to bug her about what happened this morning and not to ask her any questions about Niana and Ninja�s.�

Everyone was silent. Anubis and the Warlords began to get up. �There really is no point in us staying and infringing�� Mia gently hit his arm.

�You know very well you are welcome here anytime. You all can stay for dinner,� Mia invited smiling kindly.

Cale stood up. �You really are too kind to us Mia, but I do not know if Emmy would appreciate it,� he pointed out.

Mia shook her head. �I think it would be good for her if all of you stayed. Just don�t bring up anything about the past. Okay?�

The Warlords all nodded. �Hey you know what I still think we should take Kento up on his little bet,� Dais said looking evil.

Kento gulped. �What bet?�

�The one where you said you could take us in Jumble Rumble (1),� Dais replied.

Kento�s bottom lip quavered. �Oh that�.that bet. Um�. well�.�

�We�ll take you,� Ryo said standing up. �Be prepared to lose to the awesome might of Ronin power.�

Sage and Rowan also stood up. �Ah am the Warlahrd Terminator.� Rowan said in a fairly decent Arnold accent. Sage took a he-man pose as the Warlords laughed.

�It�s not even though,� Sekhmet pointed out. Cye put his hands up.

�I�m cooking. You�ll be even,� he said and quickly exited to the kitchen. Mia grinned and looked at Kayura.

�Think we can help him?� Kayura asked. Mia nodded and left the boys to themselves.

Ryo was glaring down Sekhmet. �You are going down,� Ryo seethed.

Sekhmet merely grinned evilly. �Take it outside guys,� came Mia�s voice from the kitchen.

The boys grudgingly trudged outside where they began to rough house with a football.

Emmy wrung the excess water out of her hair and braided it down her back. She looked in the mirror and frowned. I look like I�ve died, she thought sullenly. Tonight I�m going to be brave and get some sleep. I�m going to develop wrinkles under my eyes.

Yelled curses caught her attention and she looked out the window. The Warlords and four of the Ronin�s were playing what looked like Rez Football. She couldn�t help but giggle as Dais and Cale ganged up on Kento and tackled him, forcing him to drop the football.

This is too funny, she thought. Oh I NEED MY CAMERA! Emmy practically ran to her bedroom and tore her room apart looking for her prized possession. Finding it she ran downstairs and outside. Not wanting to be a distraction she kept in the shadow of the house and began to snap pictures of the Ronin�s and Warlord�s playing.

The whole game abruptly ended when Sage fumbled the ball and tripped, bringing down Sekhmet and Anubis with him who caused Rowan to slam into Cale who tripped Ryo who was already against Dais and bringing him and Kento down to the ground. They all ended up in one heap. Emmy began to laugh at the domino effect. She looked at her camera and couldn�t believe she had actually captured the majority of that on film.

Tears were streaming down her face as she looked up and saw the guys approaching. �Hey Emmy!� they all greeted happily.

She was trying to catch her breath but looking up at their state just made fresh giggles come out. �I�have�that�whole�schmiel,� she gasped out.

�So who won Emmy?� Cale asked.

�If you were playing Rez Football then whoever had the most points,� Emmy replied.

They boys exchanged confused looks. �Rez Football?� Sage questioned.

�Yeah where whichever team has the ball in the end zones gets a point and whoever has the most points wins,� she explained.

Anubis began to chuckle. �Jumble Rumble.�

Emmy looked at him startled. �Wow! You�re the first person in a long time I�ve heard call Rez Football that. That�s pretty�. wow!� she said stunned.

�Hey guys!� Kayura called coming outside. �We need some of you to run into town and get what�s on this list. We don�t have any good beverages in the house.� Kayura handed the list to Kento who scratched his head. �Hello Emmy. It�s nice to see you.�

Emmy smiled and nodded, not sharing the same delight. Kento took out his car keys. �Anybody want to go?�

�I�ll go,� Rowan offered. Anubis also nodded.

�May come along?� Emmy asked shyly. Everyone�s head turned. Kento smiled.

�Right this way madam,� Kento said leading the way to his car. Emmy shook her head.

�I need to get some shoes on mister,� she said and rushed back into the house.

Five minutes later Kento, Rowan, Anubis and Emmy all were driving towards town. Emmy saw Kento peeking at her in the rearview mirror.

�Keep your eyes on the road,� she growled playfully. Kento grinned.

�Yes ma�am, sir,� he mocked. Emmy couldn�t help but giggle.

�Say Emmy, tomorrow there is a party that a friend of ours is having. All the other guys have dates except me. Would you like to go with me?� Rowan questioned. Emmy looked at him shocked.

�You�re�you�re kidding right? I mean you want me to go with you to a party?� She questioned. Then, she thought about it. �What type of party?�

All three men laughed. �You are quite the talker,� Anubis commented.

Emmy gave him a sideways look. �You didn�t realize this the night we met?�

Again all the guys chuckled. �It�s just a regular old party. You know, girls, beer, friends, and dancing, loud music. Beer�girls,� Rowan rambled off. Emmy grinned.

�You seriously want to take me with you?� she questioned again.

Rowan turned around in his seat. �Yes. You just need something to wear. It�s somewhat dressy. Not super fancy but not casual either. Something in between okay?�

Emmy seemed thoughtful. �Mia and I will have to go shopping again tomorrow,� she looked at the guys. �If she wants to that is,� she added quickly.

For some reason it still felt odd that Mia was supporting her now financially, not her parents. Gods, that sounds so stupid, Emmy thought to herself. I should just be grateful that these are the guys that took me in instead of some other morons who could�ve been much worse.

They pulled up to a small supermarket. Right next to it was a music outlet store and a bookstore. No way, Emmy thought. My life cannot be this good.

�Hey, um guys? Mind if I go next door?� Emmy asked pointing to the music store. They shook their head but Rowan accompanied Emmy.

�You know you really don�t have hang onto me when we are out in public,� she commented as they entered the store. Rowan smiled and shrugged.

�No actually I wanted to look at the New Releases,� Rowan replied.

Emmy quickly went over to the New Release section. Two cd�s caught her attention. With shaky hands she picked up both of them and looked them over. Two-Mix and MOVE, she thought. Their new albums are out already.

This is wrong. It�s like I never existed at all. But everything else is the same. The streets, the buildings, even the people. Just I never existed.

Emmy sighed as she placed the cd�s back on the rack. I have to keep a good attitude or else life will really be bad, she thought to herself. It can�t get much worse than this.

Silently she walked up to Rowan. �I�m going to go to the bookstore. You mind?� she questioned him. Rowan shook his head so she headed out of the shop over to the bookstore.

Inside a very comforting sight greeted her. At least they still have books here, she thought happily. Emmy meandered over to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section.

A few minutes later Rowan came up beside her. �You look sci-fi stuff?� he asked her.

Emmy looked up. �Yeah,� she replied. She showed him the book she was looking at. �I love the Shannara books.� Rowan looked at her surprised.

�That�s neat. I have all of them that are out back at home. Is there anything else you wanted here though?� Rowan questioned. Emmy looked at him sheepishly.

�Just this one. It�s not a Shannara but I like the author. He�s rather good,� she replied. Rowan took the book off the shelf and looked at it. It was then Emmy noticed he was carrying a sack. �What�s in there?�

Rowan looked at the sack. �Oh, nothing. Just something Mia asked me to get her. A classical cd, that�s all,� Rowan explained. He grinned. �Lets go pay for this.�

Emmy followed him to the cash register. �You know you don�t have to get this for me,� she said.

�But I want to get it for you,� Rowan said back. Emmy felt herself blush. Rowan saw this and patted her shoulder. They paid for the book and quickly left, meeting Kento and Rowan in the parking lot.

�Hey! Let�s get. Food�s probably getting cold by now,� Kento called. Emmy smirked at Rowan and Anubis.

�Shotgun!� she yelled and raced towards the car.

Shadow sat down in front of Lady Annett, Lady Marie and Mic. Mic stretched unceremoniously and yawned. �Here is the deal. I have found where Ken-Kal is hiding Nerissa and I�ve found out something about that fake Nerissa that might come as a surprise to us all,� Mic said.

Lady Marie looked at him. �What is it?�

Mic sat on a rotted stump. �We all remember Niana�s little side kick when she was younger correct?�

Annett laughed. �How could anybody forget Creia? That girl was just as crazy as you and Niana combined,� Annett commented.

Mic frowned slightly. �I will choose to take that as a compliment. Anyhow, we all know Creia had a twin,� Mic continued.

�Celestrea wasn�t it? She was rather ill all the time,� Marie remembered.

Mic nodded. �Well Creia and Celestrea disappeared shortly after Niana became leader of the Ninja�s, until Celestrea came back again to see Nerissa this time. Celestrea acted different this time. She didn�t recognize me or seem to know Nerissa had armor she only seemed interested in Niana and the armor of Chaos. Nerissa and her went to �investigate� something and when Nerissa came back she had changed. Correct?�

Marie and Annett nodded. �That is where you noticed it wasn�t your sister and immediately warned Niana against talking about yourself. Then Niana became convinced Tulpa was moving against the Ninja�s once again,� Annett added.

Mic nodded. �Well I have found out today that fake Nerissa is none other than our beautiful Celestrea. Creia is being held with Nerissa. Apparently Creia has something Ken-Kal really wants and is using Celestrea to get what Creia has and Niana�s armor. So we have to find a way to kill Ken-Kal, rescue Creia and Nerissa, then free Celestrea and free all the Lady Warriors and return Niana to power.�

�That is easier said than done. Emmy wants nothing to do with any of her past. She refuses to believe she is Niana,� Shadow explained. Everyone looked down at the small black cat.

Mic closed his eyes. �I wish I knew what had happened when she disappeared with that fight with Saranbo. Maybe then I could understand why she is doing all of this. It�s pretty obvious that she lost her memories, but how?�

Everyone was quiet for a time. Shadow was the first to break the silence. �I think we should rescue Nerissa from her prison. That should be our first step,� Shadow suggested. Annett nodded.

�We should plan tonight and then rescue her tomorrow. That way we will all be well rested and prepared,� Annett said. Mic and Marie nodded in agreement. They all sat down on the forest floor and settled in for the night.

Marie sat very close to Mic. She had a very shy grin on her face. �What?� Mic asked her.

She shook her head. �You are just so cute in the fading light,� Marie commented.

�Thank you, Marie. You are very beautiful too,� Mic replied feeling himself slightly blush.

Marie looked down and giggled. She leaned her head against Mic�s chest. �You like to flatter me don�t you?�

Annett snorted. �Don�t you two love doves start. I won�t get any sleep. You keep talking like that, next thing I�ll hear is��

�Now Annett I�m very surprised. Mic and I would never do such a�an�unthinkable thing,� Marie shot back weakly.

Annett chuckled. �Go to sleep.�

Marie looked up at Mic. �You know, it is a little obvious that we are in love, Marie,� Mic commented. Marie frowned.

�Whose side are you on anyways?� Marie asked sounding hurt.

Mic touched her cheek. �You know I�m always on yours sweet Marie,� Mic said leaning closer.

�That�s it. I�ll be a little ways off. Yell if you need anything. I want to sleep tonight,� Annett said as she got up and walked off. Mic and Marie giggled as they lay there in the silence.

Ken-Kal stood with his Nerissa on top of a ledge overlooking the Ninja camp. Everything was in order at the moment so they headed off towards the cave where their prisoners were being held.

His imposter kept her pace quick. The sooner they got there, the sooner they could leave. Ken-Kal merely walked behind her letting it look like she was in control over everything. As soon as we conquer Earth we can return to the Dynasty, Ken-Kal thought as they entered the cave.

Two Ninja�s and three Lady Warriors instantly appeared, but quickly backed into the shadows when they saw it was their leader. Fake Nerissa barely gave them a second glance as she walked on deeper. Guards stopped two more times before they reached their goal.

Lying in a small alcove was two girls. One, the real Nerissa, was tall athletic looking with chestnut colored hair swept back by a green headband. She wore one of her many fighting outfits: A strapless blue green suit with high boots that came up past her knees(2). Her green mask had been removed so her face was visible and her neck vulnerable to be bit.

The other girl had dark violet hair that cascaded in long waves all around her. She wore just a simple sleeveless black tunic and a pair of black pants that had many holes in it.

Nerissa, sister of Niana and Creia, Guardian of the Gateway of Time. Both held significant powers that he needed to present to his master back at the Dynasty in order to obtain total control.

Nerissa stirred. A piece of hair fell into her face. Her eyes blinked open and she looked ahead disoriented. �What the�oh�oh�ouch. I don�t ever think I�ve had a headache that�s hurt like this before,� she said as she rubbed her head. Nerissa noticed Creia and gingerly crawled over to the girl. �Hey, Creia. Come on girl wake up.�

Creia jerked awake abruptly and looked as disoriented as Nerissa had. �Where are�oh Son of Ninjana Scum. This hurts,� Creia complained rubbing her neck.

�So we�re awake are we?� the fake Nerissa questioned. The real Nerissa and Creia turned and looked at her.

Nerissa just looked from the imposter to Ken-Kal. A grim expression appeared on her face. �What is the idea? Where is Niana? Where is�� she quickly held her tongue.

�We want to know which one of you carries Niana�s orb of Chaos. You tell us, we let you live just you will serve as slaves in the Dynasty,� The imposter said smirking.

Both girls kept silent, angered looks on both of their faces.

Ken-Kal stepped forward. �If you do not cooperate you will be killed. We have other ways of getting what we want,� Ken-Kal said. He then looked directly at Creia. �You will also give me way to the past where we can kill everyone who ever stood against the Dynasty and we can capture Niana then and brainwash her.�

Creia stood up slowly. �You actually think after what you�ve done to everything I�ve held dear I�m going to help you?�

�There are ways of making you cooperate,� Ken-Kal replied lazily.

Creia shook her head. �You already have my sister. Isn�t that enough for you?� Creia almost burst into tears. She looked at the imposter. �Look at Celestrea. Is this what you wanted?�

The fake Nerissa merely laughed. �You are mistaken. I am Nerissa, leader of the Ninja�s. I will be victorious and I will serve my master well.�

Nerissa stood up beside Creia. �You know if Annett and Marie are still alive they will defeat you. You will die. You will never be victorious as long as Niana lives,� Nerissa yelled. Ken-Kal jumped on her and bit her neck.

Creia pulled a staff from nowhere and was preparing to fight when the imposter, her own sister, grabbed her and allowed Ken-Kal to bite her. Creia dropped to the ground. Tears were in her eyes.

�Celestrea, listen to me. Ken-Kal and Muttock will kill you. Once�you have�finished�what you�� Creia didn�t finish for she had passed out.

The imposter, Celelstrea, came over and looked down at her sister. �You, are quite mistaken. I have a space reserved for me. Ninjana and the Lady Warriors realm was first. Earth is next and then we will move onto other places. The Dynasty shall reign,� she said in a very evil voice. She then began to laugh, a horrible evil laugh that echoed all thoughout the cave.

Ken-Kal just stood there and looked at his imposter. If only she knew what her true fate was, he smiled inwardly. When you have served your purpose you will be disposed of.

(1)-A game that has absolutely no plot that my friends and I always play at lunch break. You have to teams, two endzones. You try to get the ball into the endzone. No team has a specific Endzone. You go one way, whoever has the ball in the endzone or team has the ball in the endzone gets a point then you go the other way. Like I said, pointless, brainless yet very very fun!
(2)-Think the stuff Kitana and Jade wore on those mortal kombat games, yes I know not to creative but I love those outfits. (Besides they totally kick @$$!)
