Ms. Rood's Philosophy

If I may, I would like to briefly share with you my educational philosophy.  Success is possible for all students!  Encouragement, patience, and positive energy are the keys to unlocking any child's potential.  I strive to create a classroom experience in which children can feel comfortable, safe and motivated to achieve beyond their highest imaginings.

By using innovative, technology-based teaching approaches and coaching creative expression while meeting benchmarks and content standards, I strive to inspire children to want to come to school.  When this happens, every day becomes a remarkable experience.  At the same time, allowing each child’s unique identity to enrich the collaborative classroom community strengthens our own understanding of the truly diverse world we live in. 

It has been suggested that for a true teacher learning is never a completed process; instead, it continues to grow and develop every day, perhaps every moment.  I consider myself to be such a teacher.
