Review: This movie is truly awesome. Tim Burton is a terrific director who
makes terrific movies and we all know that his terrific movies are made even
better when Johnny Depp is in them. Johnny Depp plays Constable Ichabod Crane,
a flamboyant, idiosyncratic and troubled inspector who comes to Sleepy Hollow
to solve the murders. Few people can get away with acting so incredibly dramatic
without looking ridiculous, but as always Johnny Depp pulls it off splendidly
and his behavior doesn’t seem the least bit odd. I am never quite sure whether
I like Christina Ricci or not, but she does well as Katrina Van Tassel, and it
is always nice to see the pair together again. Over all a terrific movie. Tim
Burton’s work is incredible as always. You can’t go wrong when you put Tim
Burton and Johnny Depp together.
Trivia: This is Johnny Depp’s third movie with Christina Ricci and his third
with Tim Burton (not counting Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
Christina Ricci was in The Man Who Cried as Suzie and Fear and
Loathing in Las Vegas as Lucy. Tim Burton directed Edward Scissorhands
in which Johnny played the title character and Ed Wood, in which Johnny
also played the title character.
