Mk1 Cotina Owners Club National Rally - 1999
Mk1 Cortina Owners Club National Rally Report
Coombe Abbey
24th and 25th July, 1999
A Most excellent event - the best yet!
The Rally's Winning formula proved itself again with a very smoothly run weekend. The excellent venue and exceptionally good weather contributed to a good show. Sunday was well supported my many visiting clubs brining their support along and this added to the variety for all those concerned. Visiting Clubs included LCR, XRs, Sporting Escorts, and, some superb MkIII Cortinas.
The Club Spares were unbelievable! You were actually spoilt for choice (I never thought that it would happen) and the committee very very helpful. Thanks to Steve for his advice on Steering bushes (glad I asked) and thanks to Kate and David for the excellent Club Fleece Jacket.
The National Rally has been an international event for many years (I remember the Svenska Cortina Klubben visiting in 1987) this year was no exception with visitors from Holland, Sweden, Norway, Ireland and Belgium (Sorry if I've missed any - let me know)
Congratulations go to the Supreme Champion - The (Obvious) Hard worked was rewarded. Some pictures of that car will appear here soon!
