Great homepage. But I can't entirely agree about Rocester's "sense of history." Rochester shares the dubious distinction with Liverpool of being only one of two cities to tear up a dedicated right-of-way, and in the same year! And while old blue-collar, sports-mad Buffalo put a trolley system back in recent years, Rochester still awaits any kind of horizontal electric transit (I presume they didn't tear out the electric elevators and somehow replace them with the internal-combustion engine.) Keep up the great work, Roger. My family lived in Rochester from 1953-1959 and my father in law's family is from Brockport, so I make trips to your area from time to time. Last time we visited, I picked up some really nice streetcar era transit passes at n indoor swap meet near Greece. The Subway seems to have entrenched itself in local folklore...maybe there's still hope! :-)
