Poly info I had a list of sources for the Poly, but apparently email gremlins have deleted the file I had on the engine. First off the bottom end of the Poly is the same as the LA block. The only difference here is the camshaft. Bill Richardson (3022 Memorial Avenue Lynchburg Virginia 24501, 804-846-0043), has built a number of these and he claims to have access to the parts to build a screamer, including new cams.* Several cam grinders will regrind your stock core to a performance grind, depending on the application. Lunati will regrind a roller cam for around $280. However Bill claims a roller cam is unnecessary and you can put the money elsewhere to make horsepower. Rocker Arm Rebuilders (I don’t have the number but they are in California) will rebuild the rockers and shafts for around $70. This service included installing bronze bushing, rafacing the hard contract pad, hard chroming and regrinding the shafts. Pekka in Finland sent his shafts to them and he was happy with results. You can use a roller timing chain from the LA, along with the windage tray. Pistons will be a custom application. Bill Richardson ahs good technical information and is a good machinist. I spoke to others, including Rocker Arm Rebuilders about building roller tip rockers for the Poly. I could have a set built for $500, but have been advised against it as the gains are not substantial for the Poly. You will need to have headers built for this application. I have been told the primaries need to be 1-3/4” I had a set built 14 years ago, but the primaries were undersized and I do not like the routing. I plan to build a new set when I redo the car. With headers, a turned down 360 crank, 11:1 pistons, and a good carburetor, the Poly will make 500+ HP Gregg
