The Porsche 550 Spyder was the first racing car produced by Porsche, and was the inspiration for the designers of the cars being produced nowadays by the company.
Chamonix produces replicas, which are very well accepted in the whole world, including Europe, North America and Japan as some of the regions and countries where the 550 is imported.
The first brazilian Spyder was produced in 1987 by "Amazonas Motos Especiais", with a 1600 air cooled engine and four gears.
It was in these times, when no car could be imported in Brazil, that many companies where founded to offer different cars to the market. Of these companies, Chamonix is one of the only ones to survive the concurrence of world known producers.
The Spyder produced nowadays by Chamonix has a 2 Liter water cooled engine, 5 gears and 120 HP.
