The Bus
This is The bus Nothing has really happened to the bus yet as I am at a stand still. I bought it with the engine sitting inside the passenger space, so I have managed to get the 2000cc (type 4) Pancake engine back where it belongs, and now I need to buy a battery to crank it over and see if my cylanders are good. Once I have completed the Compression test there is another big obsticle I need to tackle, and that is installing the Air flow control(AFC) Fuel injection, This sucks because I hate fuel injection although it has its advantages, and i would like to put a carberator on this machine, but I need to pass emissions until the year 2002(whch is when it will become a collector's vehicle)so it will wait until I am ready to tackle the task at hand, and I finish my Ghia 11/5/99 Ah, finally I have been able to get some work done, here is an engine pic: ![]() I have finally gotten around to getting a compression test done and all is well, I have also managed to unlock the steering column, and I got all of the door locks working. whare to go from here, Well I will most likely pull out the engine and rebuild it, along with repacing the fuel injection with a good carburator, and giving it a good valve job. much more work must be done, and i have decided to work on the bus now and the Karmann ghia later beacuse I need to do a lot more to the Karmann Ghia. |
