The Heartland Ohio Railroad is Dave Newell's layout. You can trade model cars with him. All rolling stock described below available for trade will be equipped with Kadee brand couplers. Also, cars will be traded on the basis of one for one. (example: A box car for a box car, a hopper for a hopper). Finally, Kathy and myself are members of the NMRA Private Roadname Modelers SIG, thus only Private Road Name cars from your own railroad will be acceptable. We're not interested in any cars from the present or past existing prototype railroads: Pennsylvannia, NYC, Conrail, etc.... Description
The box car will be available in the 40 or 50 ft. length. Its manufacture will be either Athern or MDC. No choices here as we buy different brands and car sizes from time to time.
The car's colors are Model Flex Refer White and Caboose Red.
The weathering effects will vary from car to car.
The caboose will usually be either of the Cupola, Wide Vision, or of the Bay Window style. Manufacture will be either Athern or MDC. Colors are Refer White and Caboose Red. Weathering will vary.
The Flat car will usually be the 86' size and manufactured by Athern. It can be with two Heartland Ohio tractor trailers or without. Flat car color is Southern Pacific Lettering Gray. Tractor trailers are Refer White. Weathering may vary.
Usually the 50' Mill variety is used for trade. Athern brand is presently being used.
Color is SP Lettering Gray.
Weathering may vary.
Hopper style may vary between the 2, 3, and 4 bay variety. Manufacture may be Athern, MDC, or Walthers.
Color of car is Engine Black. A coal load is included with the car.
Weathering may vary.
The ore car size may vary from 26' to 30'. Manufacture may be MDC or Walthers.
Color may be either SP Lettering Gray or Engine Black. An ore load will be included.
Weathering may vary.
The tank car may be either of the Petro or of the Chemical storage design. Size will vary from short to long ones.
Manufacture will be either Athern, MDC, or Walthers.
Color is SP Lettering Gray
