Our 1999 Record is:
Apr. 3 Race canceled due to rain.
Apr. 10 Doug started off the night by qualifying 5th with a 17.75. He then started in 6th the heat race. He was able to get into second when a yellow flag was thrown. He ended up in second in the fast heat. That started him in 10th in the main event. After a pile up in turn three involving Doug Foos(214), Chuck Van Buren(288) and John Nash(277), Doug was in sixth place. After he moved through the field and got by Dave Arce(205) he took the lead. After leading a few laps, the exhaust manifold broke causing the exhaust pipes to drag. Doug lead for about 15 laps to Win the main event in front of Danny Gay(201).

Apr. 24 Doug Started out the night qualifying with a 17.94. He went on to Finnish 2nd in the fast heat. In the main he moved through the field to 3rd place when a tire cut down on lap 22. By the time the tire was changed the race was finished. He ended up in 14th place.
May. 1 Doug qualified 9th to start the night out. He then went on to win the fast heat, which started him 9th in the main event. He was able to gain 7 places to finish 2nd behind the winner Danny Gay(201).
May. 8 Doug started by qualifying 10th with a 17.88. He started on the inside of the last row in the heat race. He was able to move to the front to win the heat. That put Doug on the pole in the main event. He was able to hold 1st the whole race. For about 10 laps or so he had a whole straight away lead. This was his second win of the season in front of Eric Evans(244), Danny Gay(201), Dustin Dumas(283), And Scott Moses(218) rounding off the top five finishers.
May. 15 Doug started off by qualifying 7th with a 17.79. That put him on the outside of the front row in the fast heat. After battling with Eric Evans(244) Doug took first to win his heat race. Since they put the fast heat behind the slow heat for the main he started in seventh. From seventh he was able to get up to second to finish behind Mike "The Maddog" Lerwill(224) who took his first street stock win, Congratulations. Rounding off the top five was third place Danny Gay(201), fourth place Richard Hinze(287), and fifth place going to Eric Evans(244).
May. 22 Street Stocks had the week off - see you May. 29th.
May. 29 A 17.80 put Doug in the third place qualifying spot, which started him on the outside of the front row in the trophy dash. He finished second in the dash to Mike "The Maddog" Lerwill(224). From the back of the fast heat Doug moved into the third spot to finish the fast heat. This put him starting in the sixth row on the inside, which was 11th place. From there he was able to work his way through the field to finish second behind the points leader Danny Gay(201). Rounding out the top 5 was Mike Lerwill(224), Richard Hinze(287), and Scott Moses(218).
June. 5 17.78 was the best of Doug's two lap qualifying, and good enough for second fast qualifier. This started him in eighth spot in the fast heat race. From there he was only able to move into sixth. In the main event Doug went from 12th to follow Danny Gay(201), who won the main, up to into second place. Rounding off the top five were Eric Evans(244), Richard Hinzes(287), and Philip Stanley(233).
June. 12 An 18.10 in qualifying put doug in 8th and started him in the 3rd row on the inside. After 4 laps in the heat race, Doug broke a U-Joint and dropped the driveshaft coming out of turn two. Because he had problems he had to start 19th in the main event. He quickly worked his way up and finish sixth, but after they teched the drives after the race one of the drivers was illegal so that put us in fifth place. Eric Evans won his first Street Stock main event, Congratulations. In second was Richard Hinze(287), Third was Doug Catania(222), Fourth was Jimmy Villa(212), And Doug Carpenter(236).
June. 19 7th spot is what Doug qualified with a 17.97. In the heat race Doug started on the outside of the second row and worked his way to a second place finish in the heat race. This started him on the inside of the fifth row in the main event. Doug was involved in a lap one accident which broke the steering box. But the crew's fast work made it possible for Doug to come back on lap 12 to finish in 16th, 12 laps down. Doug Catania(222) won the race with Ron Trammell(247) in second, Dustin Dumas(283) in third, John Ahrendt(261) in fourth, and Richard Hinze(287) in the Fifth spot.
June. 26 Street Stocks had the week off - see you in two weeks on July 10th.
July. 3 Street Stocks had the week off - see you July 10th.
July. 10 Doug qualified 11th with a 18.250. Starting in the back of the heat race, Doug made his way upto fourth. This put Doug on the outside of the second row in the main. On lap four a wheel bearing went bad so Doug went three laps down to finish 13th. Richard Hinze(287) won with Rob Freeman(291) in second, Ivan "Doc" Harrison(295) in third, Danny Gay(201) in fourth, and Chuck Van Buren Jr.(288) rounding out the top five.
July. 17 Doug started by Qualifying a 18.350 for 14th. In the Heat Doug finished 5th. This started Doug on the inside of the Fifth Row. Doug was able to lead until the last few laps when he was taken out by another Driver. Doug finished 12th over all.
July. 24 Street Stocks had the week off - see you July 30th.
July. 30 Doug started by Qualifying a 17.866. In the Heat Doug finished 2nd. In the Main Event Doug Started 9th, Inside of the Fifth Row, to work his way to 3rd. Ivan "Doc" Harrison(295) Won the race , Richard Hinze(287) finished 2nd, Doug Carpenter(236) finished 3rd, Ron Brown, driving John Ahrendt's #261, Finished fourth, and Rob Freeman(291) rounding out the top five.
August. 7 Doug had some problems and did not finish.
August. 14 Doug broke the timing chain and did not start.
August. 21 Street Stocks had the week off - see you August 28th.
August. 28 Doug quilifyed 8th. He finished second in the heat race. In the main he finished 8th place.
September. 4 Doug quilifyed 7th. He finished 2nd in the heat. And second in the main.
September. 11 Doug quilifyed 18.17. He finished 4th in the heat race. In the Main he made it up to 8th when the broke off he went 3 laps down.
1998
Doug finished off the 1998 season in 10th place in the championship points.
