This happened 2 weeks after I got my Trans Am back from the body shop. It happened the Monday after the 1997 South Bend, Ind Street Machine Nationals. I was driving the car home from having the front end aligned, and I was a block from my house all I had to do is turn the corner and go about 50ft and turn into my driveway. The left front tire came off and rolled into the neighbors yard.

I walked home and got a spare tire because I cut about a 2" gap in the road and about 3' long. Needless to say I was PISSED BIG TIME! The lower ball joint wasnt hurt just scraped up pretty bad, I guess I was lucky since I was driving the car at the time.

I have the last known 1978 Pontiac Trans Am fender in the USA. Yes my insurance company paid out the nose for it, but finding the last known GM fender in the USA is pretty tough. GM decided not to make this style of fender anymore including the Camaro. So after about a month of looking for a fender I found one and had it shipped to me direct. I got it and that day took it to the body shop, Rick painted it and I put it on that weekend. 1
