World of Married With Children
Well, I must admit after more than 12 years, Married
With Children is still my favorite American TV show! (Hell knows why it was
discontinued, despite its huge popularity!) I believe the show can be seen worldwide, and
even my mom enjoyed it with Chinese subtitles by watching it in Hong Kong! (which also got
discontinued without some of the newer episodes...)
Let me say something about each character:
- Al Bundy: The guy I
admire the most, (not that I want to be a shoes salesman and sales women shoes!) because
despite the way he is being treated by his family members! He has been so faithful to his
wife, even though he could have so many young and beautiful women around him! This once
great high school football legend definitely deserves much more than such family and job!
- Peggy Bundy:
Although she doesn't look really good, she does have the best figure/shape of any
housewife that I know of! I wonder if such non-working-TV only housewife really
exist in US! Also, if she does nothing, that means she moves little and doesn't exercise
at all. How can she keep herself in such good shape then?
- Kelly Bundy: Ah!
The gorgeous beautiful blonde Kelly! Although compare to the rest of those women around Al
Bundy (not the fat ones, of course!) her body might not be as perfect. Though she sure is
perfect by my standard! I heard in reality she behaves nowhere close to the
character she plays. One thing I do know for sure, Christina Applegate definitely is not
as stupid as Kelly Bundy! (I do guess Kelly Bundy might be one of the stupidest
person in the world!)
- Bud Bundy: One of
the smartest guy in Married With Children. I think he is just as brilliant, if not
anymore, in terms of making money (not by working, of course!) like Jefferson. I mean,
he's smart, (like me!) and he isn't really that bad looking either, (at least better than
me!) then why isn't he getting any girl?
- Buck/Lucky: The
talking dogs sure add more fun to the family and the viewers! The dogs actually do behave
like Al in someways...
- Marcie D'arcy: Of
course, since I like Al, I sure dislike Marcy! Though the actress sure did an excellent
job for playiing the role...and the show just wouldn't be as funny without her! (though
she definitely stood in the way of Al for getting beautiful women many times!)
- Jefferson D'arcy:
Definitely one of the funniest guys in the sidcom with a mysterious history! Was he really
a secret agent as he claimed? If so, why couldn't he make enough money to survive on
his own, rather than being a "slave" for Marcy?
- Executive Producer:
I'm not sure if the position had been played by different person. Though I truly admire
how the show was created, with such funny characters. I mean, you've a family with a
working husband only, and the other just the total opposite with the wife earning all the
money. A job as a shoe salesman selling women shoes, can you imagine any of your friend
having a job like that? How about working at the DMV for Bud? How can the producer
came up with all these ideas?
