Hong Kong and Macau Ferry (Turbo Cat) used to be the major competitor of Far East Jetfoil. However, they both merged to form Turbo Jet in 1999. Its fleet used to consist of approximately 7 Turbo Cat catamarans. They are also known as Tri Cat since they have an extra "body" between the "twin hull" of the ship.

The company still operates some catamarans, with specification similar to those of Hong Kong Ferry HKF series, some of them are serving between Tuen Mun and Central when Shun Tak Group, the holding company of Turbo Jet, tookover the route from Hong Kong Ferry after its franchise ended in 1999.
