Former Superbikers winner Eddie Lawson along with yet to be 500GP Champion Wayne Rainey trade the lead while entertaining spectators in the heat for roadracers.Rainey eventually won this portion.

Prior to the final GP World Champion Eddie Lawson's YZ490 Supermotard lies broken against the guard rail.In the interview with ABC sports Eddie explains it "locked up" during warmup for the final with a suspected broken gearbox or connecting rod.With no back up bike this was the end of Eddie's day.
