PRI Banger Racing Championship of the Word (1990)
Kevin King attempted to halt the total domination of the banger scene by the Ford Granada in 1990. He qualified for the PRI World Final using V8 Rover power and was the favourite on pole. However many of the PRI star drivers doubted that he would finish and 26 Mk1 Granadas and 5 Mk2's lined up behind to prove the point. Kingy led for a while, although his engine was smoking badly. Then Kevin McNess, in an amazing move launched Kingy sky-ward in a spectacular roll along the armco - the Suicide Squad man was lucky to escape unscathed as his roof was demolished by a fence post.
