A35 (baby Austin)

Austin A35 - built between 1956 and 1962, it replaced

the A30 which was almost identical in appearance.

Cost £541 new when introduced.  

The 204 car opposite competed in the Wimbledon

'Its' a Knock-Out' team event - 1999  

Top Speed 73mph in standard form

from a 34bhp engine of 948cc.

Total Production: 100,284 two-door saloons, 28,961 four-door saloons, 151,652 Countrymans and vans and 475 pick ups.

Not apparently the sportiest of cars, the A30 and A35 were naturals for economy runs, but they did also appear in other forms of competition.  In his early days Graham Hill raced an A35 with a fair degree of success.
