Samer, tell us about yourself
My name is Samer Saliba, born in 1978 in Zahle, Lebanon. I got my highschool diploma from the Secondary Evangelical School in Zahle, 1995, in maths. I entered the AUB in fall 1995-96 to the Mechanical Engineering major.

Why did you choose Mechanical Engineering
I chose it because I like to work in mechanics and be creative in this field. My father trades with motorcycles and bicycles and since I was a little kid I realised the great powers of motors. I liked motors and this great feeling one gets when he rides a superbike and zoom along the street. But certainly I am getting in this major much more than I was expecting from it.

What are your hobbies an favourite sports
In sports, I love basketball, tennis, table tennis, and volleyball. In each of these sports I had a chance to see my ability in it and had a lot of time to enjoy with these games except tennis. Since now I have the chance to play tennis in the AUB courts, there is no time that I can specify for it. Pity, isn't it?
My hobbies are, or actually my hobby is, the computer. All computer fans know what I mean. Programming, games, and the internet make the computer a very enjoyable station. You will be lying if you don't agree, because this is what is making you read my homepage. Its fun ! :-)

Give us an idea of the names of the programming languages you use in programming
My fist computer language is, certainly, Basic. Then I learned DBase. Then QBasic, Pascal, C++, Visual basic, and lately, I am learning Java++. Interesting, right?

What is your-short term plans
My 'shortest-term' plan is to win the AV race. What? You don't know what is the AV? Then click on the "Project" item in the above menu to know some details about it. I am planning to make (with the help of my team) the most powerful and the most technological AV (Amphibious Vehicle) in the history (of AUB, sure; don't think that I can beat international professionals now).
Another plan is to continue up to the masters degree. As simple as that.

What is your long-term plans, or in others words, your goal
My goal is where my goal keeper is. Ha! Just kidding. My goal is to work in a big and well known company, have a salary of $4000, build a doublex luxurious complex, and own a Jaguar. It is that simple. See, this shows how humble I am.
