WHAT I DID:

Thank you for downloading Anderson Speedway.
Anderson Speedway is a high banked, quarter mile oval track in Anderson
Indiana.
This track was created by Gary Beard as part of his project to make sim
racing as realistic as possible. Other aspects of his "Realism Project" can
be found at Woof Motorsports. There you will find other tracks created to
simulate real tracks as well as his AI updates for each Winston Cup track
(other tracks to come shortly).
Anderson Speedway (www.andersonspeedway.com) started out as Rockford Speedway
from BB&B (www.simcyberworld.com). They made Rockford from, I believe, Myrtle
Beach. I took Rockford and took out every graphic except for the front
straight grandstand, the four vehicles in the infield of the track, and the
track itself. I then brought in .3do files from about five other tracks
(along with the .mip's that went with them). I re-positioned each .3do file,
edited some of the vertices to get the images the right shape and size, and
painted some of the graphics of the .mip's.
Once I got the .3do's correct I started working on the track itself. I
painted the walls and put the proper logos on them. I changed the infield
grass to concrete and changed the .mip colors to match. I put in a back
straight pit road to accommodate 26 cars. The actual Anderson Speedway has
no infield walls...so I edit the .trk and took out the pit wall. At Anderson
the cars pit on the figure 8 track on the infield. It's impossible to
re-create the actual pitting style in the sim...but i'm looking into the
possibility of making it closer to the real thing. For now, I left the
infield wall in. Depending on feedback I get from this version, I may put the
pit wall back in.
I also edited the .trk to give the best grip on the bottom of the track in the
turns.
Anderson Speedway has a large Bingo parlour behind the back stretch grand
stands...so I put in my own Bingo parlour.
I used video tape from the A.S.A. race from Anderson Speedway to get the track
as realistic as possible. I tried to keep the graphics to just those
necessary to make the track look realistic. I left some of the graphics out
that were a bit outside the track in order to keep the track.dat file from
getting too large.

THANKS:

I'd like to thank Chas and the guys at BB&B and Sim Cyberworld for their work
on Rockford Speedway. Without their work, mine would not have been possible.
I'd also like to thank all those that taught me how to edit tracks as
extensively as I can.

INSTALLATION:

** YOU MUST HAVE ROCKFORD SPEEDWAY IN ORDER FOR THIS PATCH TO WORK **
Make a directory in your ..\tracks directory called anderson. Copy the
rockford.dat file from your ..\tracks\rockford directory into the
..\tracks\anderson directory you just created. Unzip the track.zip file in
the ..\tracks\anderson directory and type install from that directory (or
click on the install.bat file from Windows).

The install routine will:
1. unpack the rockford.dat file
2. rename all the rockford.* files to anderson.*
3. unzip the file named newfile1.zip
4. pack the anderson.pck file to anderson.dat
5. delete all the dust files
6. unzip the newfile2.zip file (which contains the *.lp, *.txt and other
necessary files in the track directory)

** NOTE **
This patch is not guaranteed to work on any system, and the user must install
this track at his own risk.
