We folded. We are sitting in luxury and after writing this we are headed for the hot tub!

The morning was beautiful. We slowly meandered up the Oregon coast - some gorgeous views of the ocean and countryside. We went through Yachats, one of the most misspelled and mispronounced towns according to their sign, and Newport, which has an amazing bridge. There were great roads at times. Mostly we followed motorhomes or buses, but david found the opportunity to make some pretty exciting passes. We had lunch in Tillamook and planned to push through to Washington to stop at Gerbing tomorrow. We went another 49 miles and realized we were rushing through this wonderful place. We stopped in Seaside and decided to stay. We splurged and got a room next to the beach. It has a stellar view, with and without fog, a fireplace, and a kitchenette. It rivals our apartment. We took a shower, I think the best shower in my life!, did laundry, and took a walk downtown. Seaside reminds me of something out of a Stephen King novel. It has that creepy, happy, saltwater taffy, possessed by Satan or vampires feel. We needed the break!

Part of what is making this trip so wonderful is that I dont have to worry about contacts! I had LASIK eye surgery at LaserVue in September and went from legally blind to 20/20 vision in a 20 minute procedure. With no packing space as it is, I would have had to give up my raspberry shower gel or extra socks in order to pack all of my contact accessories. Plus riding without contacts is so much better. My eyes dont get dry and we dont have to pull over for every time I get dust in my eyes. If you are interested in this, call LaserVue and ask for my sister, Sharon Ross (shes the office manager) or my best buddy, Robyn Harrington (shes in communications).

The next few days should be some restful visits with friends in Portland.

Well were off to the hot tub,
janet.
