GREAT NEWS!!! The Bollman Racing Ford Probe performed great! We started off slow in qualifing but rightfully so. We were running our brand new car and brand new motor in a brand new year! However, everything went fine. The first qualifing run we took a single for safty reasons and the car ran a 8.47 on a 8.54 index. The Bollman Racing Team was jumping for joy. With our old Maverick we worked so long and hard just to run that far under our index but this year with the new car we ran that fast out of the box! The next day we made a better run and qualified 13th with an 8.35. We were riding on a cloud going into Sunday's eliminations. It really didn't matter how well we did just that we were there, Racing! For the first round we were paired with Johnathan Alisio and their supermodified camaro. Johnathan has been having a great year he is currently 5th in the country for NHRA Competition Eliminator. He was the 4th qualifier and was running 3 tenths faster than us but, he hurt his good motor and had to rely on his spare which was untried. So we are staged ready to go and we take off and when i'm at half track i look up at the score board only to see my win light on! I couldn't believe it Johnathan red lighted! But I was rate there with a killer .502 reaction time. I got into 5th gear and was screaming as loud as I could because I was so happy. The second round paired us up with the chassis builder Adam Keir or Ken Keir Race Cars and their A/EA. We were staged and ready to go but, my D/A Probe is slower and I took off first with a .538 reaction time unaware of what was going on behind me. I was concentrating on my shift points and going as straight as I could down the track. Well Keir had problems at mid track and was forced to shut off! I was in 5th gear again looking over to see the speedy car come up behind me but he never did and my win light came on!! By this time we couldn't believe how our weekend was going, this was awesome! The next round paired us up with a V-6 powered Grand Prix. He was the number one qualifier so things weren't looking good but, we went to the starting line with the mentality of you never know what could happen! We left the line go and I chopped the tree from underneath him. I cut a .521 light to his very slow .624! However the ex Larry Kopp V-6 had too much power for us that day. But we will be rate there with him very soon, I just know it! We are very excited for the next race at Lebanon Valley and are loaded for bear. Always remember you never know what could happen so alway try your best!
