Well last weekend we had the motor on the dyno at Glenn Kramer's shop in South Amboy, NJ. The results are mixed for us at Bollman Racing the motor did hold together and did respond to tests that were performed. However, it only made 656 hp. Approximately 100 hp down from where we should be. This engine has many different components than we have had in the past. So we have dissasembled the engine and are going through it with a fine tooth comb. The cranking compression is quite low, the gasoline mixture still seems too rich and the flame travel looks like it is stuck behind the dome on the piston. So we look at getting a different cam with less duration to gain more cranking compression. Also, we are cutting a larger flame slot in the piston so the flame will hopefully be able to travel the entire way across the piston a lot easier. So stay tuned for more results in about two weeks when we run the engine again!
