Interested with the computer from the firs
time he saw it. He entered ITS Surabaya and took
Computer Science as his major. Later he found out
that, just like what Jean Luc said in the Star
trek sagas, there are many things to seek and to
explore. Knowledge, that is. And his first
encounter with the Internet is some time in his
second semester. When he attended a computer
exhibition and saw an internet booth. He could
surf for hours standing, ignoring everybody
behind watching with their cynical eyes. At that
time he realizes that Internet might be the
coolest thing he ever saw. Later, with his
friends, he holds up an extra lecture session (
Kuliah Tamu in Bahasa Indonesia ), kinda like a
mini seminar about the Internet, featuring guest
speaker from one of the major Indonesia ISP,
RadNet Surabaya. Representing the
oh-so-called-I-know-a-lot-of-technical-things-that-you-don’t-know
figure. Its not that he couldn’t find any
one suitable for that position, but the title
kuliah tamu means a guest speaker. And RadNet is
a guest speaker. And another guest speaker
representing the internet power users is PC-MAC.
Just another Mac authorized dealer.
In his 3rd semester, The first
PIMITS ( Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa ITS ) is being
held. And with his friends, he represented HMTC (
Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Computer – ITS )
PIMITS. There, they get their own booth, which
they used to introduce their concept of Cyber
café. Cyber Soul, Cyber Nation. The
first cyber café in ITS, its lasted only four
days though. When PIMITS is over, so does his
cyber café.
When he reaches his 5th semester,
he joined the recruitment for the IPTEKnet-ITS.
Where he worked there as a team and begin to
develop his skill at web administrating. It is a
non profit project to bring http://www.its.ac.id
to live. And to serve the internet needs of the
whole ITS community. The ITS Web Site is
officially launched at the 21st
October.
Now, seeking another challenge, Rizki and his
friends has just started to make their way into
the professional field.
