I'm back from the annual back east NASCAR race of the year in Charlotte and WOW--I am going back to that race! It was FANTASTIC meeting a whole group of folks and having GREAT hosts in the process. Thank you Hoss & Midnite. Great meeting everyone!!! (of course there's those folks from Florida & THE LIZARD) :) SCRUFF & TONY--HOPE YA LIKED THE RACING & super glad you were there. It was GREAT being in the Heartland of NASCAR on this trip. I can't put up near the pictures I'd like to in order to capture it all. To folks I lost "bet's" too-- well be on GUARD next time. LOL. So with that-- *clink*.. a toast to a good time my friends.
The big nascar trip back east for 1999 and I stayed at the Hoss Ranch up near Hickory (Home of Dale Jarrett) in North Carolina. It was about hour from the Charlotte MotorSpeedway. Nearby at the house was the Dale Earnhardt Chevy dealership-- ya don't see them in California. Well too bad I'm a Ford fan - LOL.
Well being in the Hickory area we went by the infamous Hickory MotorSpeedway and the DJ diner (owned by Dale Jarrett-not that I needed ta mention that-lol). At the Jarrett/Farve race shop we even had the pleasure to met Jason Jarrett -- well you would've thought I was a Jarrett fan with all the stuff I bought there. Have no fear...... !!
...next stop for the morning was Mooresville and there's the Roush racing shop!! YEEEHAWWW! We also stopped by a little diecast shop that just got in a Rusty hood from the 99 Talledega crash with Jeff Gordon (I think it was that race). We got in as many shops as we could before heading down to watch the Winston cup qualifying for the Charlotte 600 in the evening at the speedway. It was a full day of GREAT FUN that's for sure.

Tony Stewart landing at the track during driver introductions after racing in the Indy 500 that same day. Well seems like a lot of COPTERING over this track huh?? LOL. The race was long and pretty clean running. In the end, Jeff Burton wins it--GO ROUSH RACING!! What a WEEK!!
