This is the first time I have been to an NHRA race since I was a wee little tyke. And as a tyke I don't remember much from that race except a car called the SNAKE and a car called the MONGOOSE at OCIR..which no longer exists. Need I say, that was decades ago.

Well I was AMAZED at the sound and shaking of the stands the top fuel and funny cars made..UNBELIEVABLE!!! And I thought a NASCAR race was loud..well...this racing is about 10 times the noise at LEAST..quite an experience!! I had to glue my eardrum back in place. I am officially hooked on NHRA racing now too.

I attended the Saturday racing for the BUD SHOOTOUT and today's racing to conclude the 1998 NHRA season.

TV does not justice to the speed, power, and NOISE of these cars!!

The final eliminations at the Pomona Speedway on a great day in California. I had new seats today about halfway down the strip in the main grandstands. What a day!

Yesterday's BUD SHOOTOUT winner Doug Kalitta and TNN announcer Steve Evans. It seemed everywhere I turned my camera SOMEONE was there..too cool!

The racing is on..altho I only stayed for the first two rounds to avoid...my least favorite thing about races...POST RACE TRAFFIC..lol. Cory MacClentathon winning his first round.

Time to head home...and watch the final rounds on tnn!!
