First thing driving into Vegas for the weekend was another quick sidetrip to Hoover Dam with Midnite (aka "Skidnite"). I'd recommend a visit there to anyone (if you can tear yourself from the lures of SinCity). Oh Oh Oh, those little specks at the top of the picture are folks looking down over the dam.
Lake Mead/Hoover Dam Water Intake Tower

Water passing through the dam's base is officially the "Colorado River" again--I THINK. (I'll have to research that a bit more).
When Lake Mead water levels get too high this spillway diverts water down this huge tunnel to the Colorado River at the base of the dam. It really is something to see-IT'S HUGE! (for perseptive, the picture has a few little specks again that are folks walking over the bridge).
In the big long white taxi the "gang from the Rio" was riding in on Friday nite on the way to Fremont Street: Greg, Maria and Jeri.
Friday Nite at Fremont Street aka "old downtown Vegas". It's a promenade and has a 1/4 mile long street covered laser show at nite. Ooops, in March, I forgot, it can get COLD at nites in Vegas so being inside the casinos was the place to be. Can't beat a $1.50 blue/red liter flask margarita and $3 craps tables at Fremont though! (Peg, Sixfan, GoMark, Tonyfan, Steve, Greg, Maria, Wendy)
