This is racing truck (T4 group) KamAZ-49252. 1995: 1st, 2nd and 3rd in "Paris - Moscow - Beijing" Rally, 1996: prizewinner of "Paris - Dakar", 1st and 2nd in "Master Rally", winner of Auto Marathon World Cup, 1997: Winner of "Master Rally", ... , 2000: 1st and 3rd in "Paris - Dakar - Cairo".

Cab-forward design 3 seats cab. Payload 8,819 lbs. Framework on serial base.

Suspension front/rear: solid axle (carter 2.2 gal of oil, locking axle differentials) with 2 leaf springs of 9 leaves, 71" length, 4 hydro-gas struts with shock adsorbers, longitudal reactive pole, (evry spring can bear the full weight of the truck!) travel - 15.7". ZF power steering (1.2 gal of oil).

First models have been powered by stock KamAZ-7403 engines (see KamAZ-5320), boosted up to 280 hp. Then, 7403 was upgraded up to 430 hp (maximal unification with serial engine, using import parts). Then, new engine KamAZ-7482 (500 hp) was designed. These are still in use in auxilary trucks. Nowadays it's powered by YaMZ 7E846 type engine, direct injection diesel, turbocharged, "air-air" intercooler, V8, ohv 32 valve. Displacement: 17,241 cc (bore 5.5", stroke 5.5"). Weight 3,042 lbs. Power: 830 hp @ 2,500 rpm. Torque: 2,139 ft.-lb. @ 1,400 rpm. Brake specific fuel consumption 155 g/hp-hr. 2 air filters with twin paper cell each one. 2 mufflers. Cooling system: water, 10.6 gal. Oil system: 10.6 gal.

Clutch: Sachs, dry, 2 disk, 15", with hydro-pneumatic control. Gearbox: ZF16S220A, semi-automatic hydro-mechanical, 16 gears, low gear in transfer case, oil 5.5 gal. Top speed 112 mph. Acceleration: 0 to 37 mph - 6.5 s, 0 to 62 mph - 15 s, 37 to 75 mph - 24 s, 0 to 0.2 mile - 20 s, 0 to 0.6 mile - 35 s.

Brakes: drums, with pneumatic control. Stopping distance from 25 mph - 56.5'. Maneuverability: turning circle 72' (front wheel), 77.5' (front bumper), max. ascent angle 32 deg., max. careen 22 deg., max. overcame wall 22", max. overcame ford 67".
