The widespread truck - GAZ-53A (1964-1993). Latest versions called GAZ-53-12 (s. 1982). This was the first automobile I drove. Hood design, 4x2, rear wheels are double-tyred. Payload 8,820 lbs. plus the same weight trailer. 2 seats cab. Suspension: dependent, with leaf springs, front: beam axle, rear: solid axle. Engine: V8 gasoline (carburetor), ohv, displacement 4,254 cc (bore 3.62", stroke 3.15"), compression ratio 6.7:1. Output: 115 hp @ 3,200 rpm. Torque 210 ft.-lb. @ 2,000 - 2,500 rpm. 4 steps gearbox, max. speed 50 mph. Brakes: drum type, with hydraulic control. Stopping distance from 20 mph - 27'. Measures: LxWxH = 17'8.4"x7'9.7"x7'3.4", wheel base 12'1.7". Track front/rear: 5'1.4"/5'6.1". Maneuverability: turning circle 52'6", ground clearance 10.4", overcome ford 2'. Curb weight: 7,165 lbs. Tyres 210R20, pressure front/rear: 71/85 p.s.i. Fuel tank: 23.8 gal. Fuel economy: 9.8 mpg (at 19-25 mph), 8 mpg (city).
