This Car is a 1967 Convertible Mustang. It has a sprint 200 6 cylinder with a manual 3 speed.
I went to a car show at the Daytona Speedway with my Friend Jim. I spent about an hour
looking at the old cars and I was hooked. When I got back home, I immediatly started looking for a
old convertible Mustang to restore. My search took me all over Florida but I ended up finding one for
sale in my local newspaper, in a near by town. I called up my friend Jim and we went to look at it. The
car was in rough shape but was a good canidate for a restoration. The man I bought it from was a retired
police officer from New York and had the car for 16 years. I bought this car on April 18, 1994. I started
buying parts for it a few weeks later and the restoration began. I started out with the intention of making
this a daily driver car. I had several people help with the restoration, it turned out to be a MUCH bigger project
than I had expected. I had most of the welding done at a local car shop, that has since burned to the ground.
This took about 6 months to get all the new pieces welded on the car and then the body work began. I have
to give my close friend Jim most of the credit for the body work as I was clueless in the begining. Another friend
Rob also did alot of body work on the car and also did the paint work. I went through the engine which was
still in great shape. Im not sure where all the time went but two years later the car was done. I must say the
car turned out much better than I had ever expected. Instead of having a daily driver car I now had a show car.
I have no doubt this car would take at least a second place in a car show although I have never entered it in
a show. Someday in the future I will enter it in a show so I can have a couple of trophies to show off. I regret to say but I have sold this car. It was a tough decision. It was sold locally to a Mustang lover like myself and I was told to come take it for a spin anytime!
