Question:
Were can I find parts?
Answer:
All BMW dealers should be able to supply you with at least the consumables. But it is better to check out the specialists. Here are some on both sides of the Atlantic. Today BMW is again involved into making parts for the pre '70 bikes. BMW Mobile Tradition makes, or organises otherwise, parts and you can buy them via your normal BMW dealer. Ask for the "Mobile Tradition" catalogue. For example they have some beautifull sheetmetal ware. Not cheap, but restoring your old rusted and dented fenders and tank ain't cheap either.
Two online dealers that supply parts of the best available quality. They work together with BMW Mobile Tradition, which means that they have the original specifications. For example, bearings are not just bearings, but in a lot of cases manufactured according to specific tolerances.

Adress list of German spare part suppliers. Specially pre 1970 stuff. These are gray market shops, usually a bit cheaper, but not neccesarily the same quality. They have a mail order service.

This list is not tested, not complete, nor for ever up to date. But it is sampled from the German motorpress, and therefore rather reliable. Most of these supliers have a spare part and price list, to be obtained by sending +/- DM 10,- to them. When you get a spare parts list, it is astonishing what is available. You can assemble a complete /2, when you have the money. The Huge spare part heap of Pfaffen Ag. is recently ('93) sold to Motorrad Stemler.
