Readers' Rides

Dave's 1967 Plymouth Satellite with 440 and 4 speed. Before and after.

Original 383 4spd car

Engine: transplanted 67' 440....525 lift competition cams hydraulic bumpstick......Holley Street Dominator intake....Holley 750 cfm vaccuum secondary carb....otherwise the motor is stock. Transmision: Stock.....Lakewood bellhousing....Hays street/strip clutch....Hurst Super Shifter III. Rear: stock 8 3/4 with 4.56 suregrip

Suspension: front....stock rebuilt with poly graphite bushings.....rear...custom ...basically I use a latter bar cross member and welded super stock spring hangers on to it....then welded the cross member between the frame rails....another straight cross member was welded between the frame rails parallel to the original rear spring shackle holes and new shackle mounts were welded to the cross member....the spare tire well was cut out of the trunk and was replaced with polished aluminum....this made it very easy.....for support 2 by 2 frame connectors are welded to the back of the front spring hangers and run up to the front cross member....with this setup I get the entire wheel well....from quarter panel to frame with out cuting the frame!....cool huh!....It works really good....the car drives straight as an arrow.

Fuel: 12 gallon fuel cell mounted in the trunk.....all braided lines...electric fuel pump Brakes: Front...Disc brakes from my friends 70 Hemi Challenger....Rear...stock drums.....All brake lines are braided....Line lock on front discs Body: Original.... Blue(paint code 8) with silver under trim(all satellites came with silver under the trim)....Black interior with console....When I bought the car it was red with black under the trim....Now....Blue(paint code 8)...no trim...it was all banged up and I really didn't like it anyway.....The body is all steel except for the hood and 67' super stock hood scoop......I installed a 6 point cage and removed the back seat and replaced the front seat with racing seats.

Wheels: Weld Draglites...Front 15X5 ...rear 15x10 (7 1/2inch backspacing) Tires: Front M/T sportsmans....rear M/T ET Street 30x13.5-15

Plans for the future: Mopar M1 intake Holley 1050 Dominator New Windsheild New Rear Glass (I already have this) New Clutch setup( I haven't decided what to go with yet)

So far the best time it's run is a [email protected] pictures were taken at Keystone Raceway but sometimes I go to Quaker City Dragway in Salem, Ohio.
