Max

I've owned my '97 Max since new. I wanted one since they came out in 1985. It took a while to get it but the wait was worth it. There is nothing like a shot of V-boost to awaken the senses. All is right in the world when I whack the throttle and Max launches like a bat outta hell with the front wheel skimming the pavement like a speedboat going across water. There is nothing boring about the other side of 100... I like it so much that I also bought an '85 in 1998.

Family

Married since '91 to a wonderful woman, Pat. She insisted I buy a bike just months before our marriage. Hard to doubt that I made the right choice with support like that for my riding!!! We have two young sons, three and eight. The eight year old is a confirmed MaxNut...When I took him on his first ride a couple of years ago with a CRV Riding Belt, I took it really easy. When we got home he looked at me and said " I thought the Vmax was a fast bike?"...the next ride I gave him a little taste of the mighty V-4... but not too much.... ; )

Location

I live in Yukon Canada. We have a six month riding season and a six month reading season ; ). Seriously, there is some of the best riding in the world here. A quick two hour trip to the coast is like riding through the Alps. Twisty and hilly roads gallore. Up on the plateau you can see for 5 miles which means a chance to open Max up.

What I do

I am the Director of Technoloy and Telecommunications for the Government of Yukon. I am heavily involved in developing a high speed telecom infrastructure for the Yukon and associated high tech industry.

MotorSport North

As a self taught hod rodder (25+ years under the hoods and tanks of just about everything), my business interests are motorcyling..naturally. I am owner of MotorSport North. The company is involved in documenting m/c tour rides. Personal interest has also led me into the area of motorcycle mods. I have built a manometer and plenumn box which has enabled me to test and modify Max's carbs and intake manifolds for improved flow and horsepower. I am also in the process of designing and making frame and swingarm braces for the Vmax (at least thinking about doing it ;)

Right now I am working on an '85 CherryMax

Hope you enjoy the pages. Feel free to send an email,or fax for further info. Drop by the guestbook before you go, and happy riding....
