The V-max frame has a tough job trying to house
all the power of the mightly engine. Unfortunately, the engine
cradle is very large and square in shape which leads to torsional
and fore/aft flexing under stress. A properly located cross brace
minimizes the problems...

As you can see, a cross brace creates a
triangle with the lower and back frame tubes. A triangle is one
