The first day under steam for the year 2000 of 70038 was held at Dr. Lockwood's home track in St John's.
Previous to this, I had run 70038 on demonstration at the Marine Institute for my Marine Engineering class.
This was, however the first steam up on a track for this year, and the first one on the track for this year.
The track is about 26 years old, and in places shows its age.

Steaming up, with one end of the track visible.

Camouflaged engine...note to self, engines painted green tend to blend in well on ground level
tracks...this is a problem with most of the photos I took.

Running across some nice bridges, the track is quite scenic. This track presents some very sharp grades to
be driven over, and some track speed restrictions. It is however, a lot of fun to drive
because of being in beautiful surroundings. The tracks at Victoria, Aldergrove and the Toronto area tracks
are easier to drive, but nothing like as scenic as this one.

Taken from below the highest point on the line, these photos show Robin Hood at about 7 feet above
ground level. This bridge again crosses the stream (the track crosses the stream 3 times), and is the high point of the
line, as well as being one of the ends.
