The Coal Unloader

This is some pictures of my coal unloader. It does -not- use the LEGO blue hopper cars, but a small "tub" style of car. This is probably the hardest thing that I have made out of lego to get to work as I wanted it to. It takes 7 Pnumatic Cylinders to control, and 2 motors to operate.This is sort of a childhood thing come true for me. I always liked reading about how you unload cars, and this is sort of the grandest way to do it. It took 3 tries to get it to this form. I don't have any Ldraw or other drawings, but if you want more info on it, ask me.

And here is a photo of the loader used with the cars. It is controlled using a lego mindstorms RCX, with 3 inputs and 3 outputs used. (2 motors, 1 light, 2 touch, 1 light sensor)

And I am working on a new coal loader, which looks like a full minehead. When I finish it, I will take some pictures of it as a whole...it loos quite impressive right now, but requires the program to be written up, and other things (like the buildings to be finished) before I will be happy with it. Since I am in a very intensive course at school, I don't know when I will have the time to play around with it.
