No chance to relax before trip to Brazil:
with Murray Walker.
F1 Racing April 1999.

If ever my catchphrase 'anything can happen in Formula 1 - and it usually does' needed justification, Australia provided it.
What a race! From the moment the two Stewarts erupted on the grid, as never before, to the moment the euphoric Eddie Irvine crossed the line, it was one to savour and remember.

But with a unique five-week gap between Melbourne and Sao Paulo, there's not a single team that won't be delighted that they can have a solid spell of development and testing - Ferrari get to grips with McLaren's superiority on Bridgestone rubber, McLaren to nail those elusive gremlins which turned their Australian pre-race orderly calm into a succession of dramas, and most of the rest of them to build some reliability into their cars and to grapple with the problems of getting them to stay on track on their four-grooved tyres.

The track at Interlagos is a very different challenge to the one at Albert Park, but the enthusiasm for all things Ferrari is still the same. Let's not fool ourselves though: Maranello have got a mountain to climb to close the gap to McLaren, and although their Australian victory was richly deserved, it was a lucky one, thanks to McLaren's woes. Whatever, the result is the same: Ferrari 10, McLaren nil. No points for Hakkinen, Schumacher or Coulthard, and Eddie is 10 to the good.

Roll on Brazil - it's going to be great to watch the fight resume. I can hardly wait.
