Lesson #2
This section of the car will be very close to stock. I did not paint the interior in any factory stock color scheme. I painted the seats, sides, and floorpan flat black. The inserts are painted a color i mixed myself- about half a bottle Testor's gloss red, and 2 drops of Testor's flat black. This makes a semi-gloss dark red. The dash was painted gloss black with the silver section in the middle. I painted silver trim around the guages with a brush that only has about 5 or 10 short hairs in it. I used the steering wheel from a 1969 Pontiac GTO. I put a floor shifter in this kit. I melted a pinhole in the floor on the "hump" and put a straight pin with a ball on the end into the hole. The last 1/8" is bent at a 90 degree angle, glued, and covered with a small piece of electrical tape from the bottom. I bent it slightly in the middle to make it look like a real shifter. I left the ball on the pin white to represent a Hurst shifter but it can be painted.
I did not have any problems putting the interior together. I used a rubber band to hold everything tight when I glued the dash to the side panels. If you have any problems, post them to the discussion board.
