Welcome to the soon to be here page. I have just recently
received the carb, and installed it. Makes a heck of a differense..I think
I will buy a new carb. woth every new engine i do. But anyways. Heres a
tip, Buy a new carb rather than a rebuilt one. I still have to send back
my old one.
MoFoCo was terrible, It took them 3 days to send my carb
out, and then it got here so late, it was crazy. I was very mad, then the
carb was set up for a generator....not an alternator, like mine...WHOOPS!!!
Well, i reversed it using my other carb parts, and then
I took the old one and put it back together, its still decent. But then
the new one went in and it has a mild case of the leaky bushing sendrum.....Not
cool.
But I am going to work with it, as best I can. Looks
great thoough.
I highly suggest getting a new one,
its only like $20 more, and to ship mine back it will be just under 10
at least. But you know. I think I will send back a different one a friend
gave me....ha ha ha.....Snicker Snicker.....SUCKERS!!!! j/k
First step is to get the new carb. Then take the old one off.
Procedure:
-disconect battery negative cable <<A MUST!!!
-Take off Air-cleaner
-Take out dristributor(careful make sure you don't screw
with timing stuff)
-Remove other items i.e. governor junk/emissions crap.
-Remove electrical wires, and the Fuel lines, then the
accelerator cable.
-Then the 13mm bolts under the carb.
-Slide off carb.
Part 2
New one on left old
on right. (arrow's point to the parts needing changed)
Well lets chat. I got a generator equiped carb the throttle
pump linkage is different for alt./gen. carbs.
The linkage hits with alternator, but generator either
will work. I swichted them on mine.
-Switch if needed!!! :)
Part 3
sucky picture...to late now.
(changed throttle linkage)
The throttle control cutoof switch doesn't come with
the new carb.
-Switch The throttle cutoff switch
-And Switch extra hoses, if using 009 distributor. Make
sure all bolts are tight(were needed), and all the air intake holes must
be covered for better performance.
Part 4
NOTICE THE ARROW POINTING
TO THE COIL.
Re-install oges in like it came out.
-Bolt carb back on. tight, check the seals too might
need new ones.
-Put the throttle cable in first.
-Re-attach Gas line, then the electrical.
-Re-install Distributor, but don't tighten your gouing
to need to readjust since you took it out.
-Double check wires!!!!! I left my coil wire off...Look
in the picture. No wounder it wouldn't start.
I fixed it then I got the sucker started right UP!!!!!
yes....purred real nice.
WHATS NEXT???
-Time it.
-Adjust idle screw and your done.
Many palces have the carb pre tuned.
Thoughts.
The air intake screw was loose ion
mine, so it ran good right off but after pain and sorrow, I ghad alot of
trouble make sure all screws are tight were needed, drives 500 times better
now.
