July 1st - 4th 1999
Strange white bears, deep sea ports, the biggest aluminum smelter you've ever seen, glaciers, seafood, coastal communities, native culture, and of course "Hyderization"
Tour BC is proud to announce it's second tour of the year. Tour BC - Northern Exposure. An informal ride to the city of Prince Rupert and side roads. A chance to explore and discover.
The Philosophy
"Ever been out West?" That was the question that started it all. It's amazing how we tend to overlook rides in our own backyard. So why not go and check the place out? We haven't been out there for years. This is an informal ride. We don't know where we'll camp or where the good places are to eat but we'll never find out unless we explore the place. So come with a sense of adventure and a willingness to share in some fun times.
The Route
The ride starts in Prince George, BC's Northern Capital. Next we head west out along Hwy 16 to Terrace. We'll check out Kitimat and the other prince, Prince Rupert, a port city on the coast. After exploring these side-roads we'll point north and head into Hyder, Alaska for some major Hyderization. The timeline for this ride coincides with the July 1st holiday (Canada Day) and America's July the 4th Independence Day. Quite suitable given the fact that we'll be visiting both countries.
