
The event is intended to provide safe competition
and enjoyment for the participants and spectacular entertainment for the
patrons, as well as advertising exposure for sponsored cars in this well
patronised event.
All drivers must comply to the club rules when
they are competing.
Your car must make solid contact with another
mobile vehicle at least every two minutes.
The last car Mobile may be deemed the winner,
Provided that in the opinion of the Stewards and Judges, all rules have
been observed. The Stewards and Judges decision is final and no correspondence
will will be entered into.
Any vehicle which is stationary for any reason
for more than two minutes is subject to disqualification. Except if the
event is stopped temporarily for safety reasons. If given the black flag,
a driver must immediately cease driving. Only the track must be used, not
the infield, and the track will be watered before the start of the Demo
Derby.
It is the responsibility of each entrant to remove their vehicle from the Speedway premises within 24hrs of the event. Any vehicle left on Speedway property overnight is at the owners risk. Cars not removed within 24hrs become the property of the Promoters and will be disposed of in any manner they select.
Overalls must be non-flammable and in good , clean condition, preferably of wool or better and are MANDATORY, Polyester or Nylon Clothing NOT to be worn. Protection from neck to wrist, covered footwear, Gloves must be worn and must be of wool or better.
Helmets to be current Australian standards (1698) MINIMUM and be in good condition and the correct size for the driver.
Any hard top sedan, is acceptable. No station wagons soft tops, commercial vehicles, utilities, panel vans or conversions permitted. Vehicles must be of 20 cwt minimum at time of manufacture. No additional reinforcing or ballast allowed.
All glass including mirrors must be removed (except
for dash instruments). All interior linings, trim, interior and exterior
handles and ornaments must be removed.
Bench or bucket seats must be used. Back and base to be securely mounted to the floor and, or roll cage ., Road type regulation lap and shoulder harness (lap / sash ) securely fitted is a minimum requirement. Full harness seat belt is recommended. Belt must be in good condition. Inertia reel type belts must not be used.
Cutting of bodies is not permitted. Bodies are
required to be presented in a neat and tidy condition. No obscene or undesirable
writing is permitted on cars. Drivers name and number to be clearly painted
on car. Numbers to be on both sides, front and back at least 15 high X
2 wide. Tow bars, including cross supports, body moldings, grills, all
lights and hub caps must be removed. Original bumpers to be retained and
to be securely fitted - no strengthening allowed. Drivers door MUST be
painted in a contrasting colour of RED or WHITE. Anyone deliberately hitting
drivers door will be black flagged and disqualified. All cars to have roof
numbers 300mmX300mm. All cars must have effective KILLSWITCH on the cowl
panel. Mesh or struts on windscreen. Any holes for gearshift, clutch or
other must not have a gap grater than 25mm. in the Floor pan.
Black pipe circular hollow section steel, minimum nominal ID 40mm,3.2mm wall thickness 48mm OD. Hoop to be mounted onto floor, using base plate (100mm x 100mm x 10mm) welded to the tube, bolted to the floor. The hoop is to be braced with a pipe of the same size welded to hoop and similarly mounted in rear seat area. A side intrusion bar at approximately the position of the upper leg to extend from behind roll hoop, forward inside the door panel and forward to the wheel well, where it shall have the end plated to prevent pipe pulling back in the event of a collision (see diagram).
Centre of steering wheel, bars and all protrusions near the driver must be padded.
Must be in original position. The engine type
may be changed provided that -
? 1) No power advantage is gained.
? 2) 4cyl to 4cyl car, 6cyl to 6cyl car,
6 Cyl to v8 car. No V8s Allowed
Engine swaps must meet with the approval of the
scrutineers. Solid engine mounts and/or restraining chains or cables are
permitted. Fans may be removed. No strengthening or bracing of running
gear and chassis, mud guards or radiators permitted. Diffs may be locked.
No protection of distributors, fuel pumps, starter motors etc. Wiring may
be protected with waterproof silastic type compounds.
Radiators must be bolted in original position if used.(a holden or ford radiator may be used in leiu, if the type is not readily available for the sort of vehicle entered). No additional radiators or holding tanks permitted. No strengthening of radiators.
Can be left in original position if desired. If battery is moved, it is to be mounted securely on the left side of the drivers compartment. Battery must be covered with rubber to prevent spillage in case of roll - over. Only TWO 12Volt batteries can be used and must be covered and secured.
BRAKES, STEERING AND MUFFLERS.
To be in original position and must be roadworthy. Mufflers must be securely fitted and must effectively silence the vehicle. (below 95DBA.)
The original petrol tank must be left in, but
must have four 50mm(2) holes placed in the bottom
and a heavy duty 4 gallon jerry can is to be
securely mounted to the floor(to the rear of driver) and at least 12 from
the outside of the car.. A non- spill vent is to extend through the floor,
well clear of the exhaust pipe. The line from the tank shall incorporate,
as close as possible to the tank, a section of flexible fuel line, to be
of neoprene or reinforced plastic line Only. No garden hose allowed (see
diagram). The line from the tank to the engine shall proceed above the
floor pan and incorporate a tap securely mounted and in easy reach of the
driver. Super and Unleaded fuel to be used only. No methanol to be used.
