My 2 cents about parking big heavy bikes:

  • When parking on upward/downward inclines, NEVER park downhill facing an obstacle!  BACK IT IN!
  • When parking on soft ground: Place a rock, piece of wood or a flattened refreshment can or under the kick stand on soft surfaces.  A heavy bike in a lean can sink it's stand in soft or sandy ground and even hot asphalt.
  • Parking on left/right inclines: make sure your vehicle leans to the left towards your kickstand.
  • Most important tip: if you are not sure about the stability of the ground, your ability to leave the parking lot or the security of your bike... FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO PARK AND PAY FOR PARKING, IF NECESSARY!
