While the previous cars featured had been minimalist models, the Mark 8 signalled a change in the Lotus direction.

While sharing its spaceframe chassis with the Seven, the Mark 8 was clad in a sleek, aerodynamic hand made aluminium body.

This car was designed for Sports Car racing and was built in small numbers in 1954/55.
