This Lotus was designed and built for use in 750 Formula Racing.

Powered by a modified 747cc Austin 7 engine, the Mark 3 won 14 races in the 1951 season, as well as 13 second places.

The Lotus was so advanced for the series that it was banned the following year to give the other competitiors a chance!

Chapman had stamped the Lotus name firmly in the minds of the motor racing fraternity, where it was to stay for a very long time.
