JAGUAR COIL OVER SHOCK ABSORBERS
Certain Jaguar cars such as the XJ6 use a unique Independent
Rear Suspension (IRS) that uses two (2) coil over shock absorbers for each
side of the car, that is a total of four (4).

Hot rodders and Cobra replicas use the entire IRS set
up, or just the coil-overs. The spring seats may have a too large outside
diameter, but could be modified to take a 2.5 (maybe smaller I.D.) inch
spring. Reusing the Jag spring may not be possible
as the rate could be up araound 300 pounds per inch
According to Geoff Hollins of the A.C.T. (the inspiration
for starting this page), in Australia, Repco sell a Monroe shock absorber
(Repco Part No 43013) for $115.60. Also available is a Koni adjustable
Jag shock for $156, and Spax make an adjustable one for Jags, no idea of
the cost, but in Australia is probably no better than using Spax G400/G401s.
Geoff says he picked up a four shock set, second hand from
a wrecker for $200.
