"I bought a '98 Intrigue in February of '98. It has nearly 20,000 miles on it and has been a constant source of trouble...The windshield washer pump died. The problem was traced to a connection that just fell off...About a third of the time, the transmission shudders as it shifts from first to second gear under heavy throttle. Two dealers have tested it and said that the problem is an acceptable deviation from the norm, even though one of the service managers was riding in the car when it shifted so harshly that the entire dashboard bounced up and down...The steering rack feels and sounds loose. After 9,000 miles the dealer could no longer deny that the car was seriously in need of help so they replaced the rack. Now after 10,000 miles, the problem has returned."
