This is the first pickup I owned. It is a 1955 2nd series. It is a 3/4 ton
but that doesn't matter. It sat in our front yard for about 12 years, not running
I was in highschool when I decided to restore it. It had a 235 6-cylinder
with a 4-speed transmission. It also had a 4.56:1 rear end in it. I drove
it like that for about 2 years, until the harmonic balancer flew apart. Then
it went in for major renovation. I dropped a 300 hp 355ci engine with a th400
transmission in it. I also replaced the rear end with a 4.10:1 rear end.
It still has the standard frame under it. I refuse to subframe it. I put
a tilt steering column out of a camaro in it, after I replaced the Kingpins
so it would steer easy. It was the truck that everyone knew me by in highschool
It is now nesting and resting in a storage shed, hasn't been driven for 2 years.
I do have some new plans for it, so who knows what will happen next.
