Why the Hiatus in the Westie Production

Well I had a period in the build where I was away from home a lot, and my wife’s Alfa33 threw a leg out of bed. (4 Cylinder engines tend to do that at 400, 000+ Km.)

So I set about in the little spare time I had to buy a tired Alfa Sprint (don’t ask me why I haven’t a clue), painted it up, put new carpets in it, and then sold it?!?. I am clueless, as it was a hell of a lot of work when I could be progressing the Westie, but I did it anyway.

Anyway here is a pickie of the Alfa getting ready for the primer.

It did look good when finished, but my wife wanted a bigger car (my kids were sick of being folded into a 2 door car), so off we went to the car yard with no money and came back with the following.

The problem that I have with most new cars is that they are all automatic, so I hunted around for a car with a manual gearbox. The car is a 1997 Ford Falcon XR6, 5 speed manual, lowered 40mm all round, 17*8 2 piece alloys 225*55 series tyres, 4.0 Litre motor.

This photo is taken at Angle Crossing on the Murrumbidgee River. We had the car for less than 1 hour and I took it on a gravel road and parked it in 4 inches of water to get this photo in a scenic place J .

I'm not planning on going on any more gravel roads the dark colour shows all the dust (damn).

Anyway that is the reason for the hiatus in the westie.
