I just bought a 1968 Camaro Convertible. I found a small amount of rust around the rear fenders. After I removed the fenders, I found major rust. I am currently having my body shop remove all the rust and replace anything that needs replacing on the b dy. I am fearful of what it is going to cost me in the end.

I'm currently restoring a 68 Camaro convertable...I really enjoyed your site. I hope to have mine done by the end of summer, but as you know it takes alot of time and money. My car is a matador red, white top and black interior base model. It is far from original but I enjoy driving her. She has a 275 hp 327, 350 trans power top, power brakes, power steering, cowl hood and rear spoiler I plan on putting ss stripes and trim on her.... as I said...she is far from original...but I really enjoy her. Once again...your site gets me motivated to complete my car.

I have a 68 convertible I have been wanting to restore for 18 years. I think this year there is a strong possiblity. I purchased a 68 HT for parts, particularly the metal front end. Though, through my reasearch it seems all convertibles have the hide-a-way headlights. I see that your car does not. Is my reasearch wrong? Do you have any suggestions on where the best place is to order parts. My car was used for Drag racing, and all electrical was removed. I know need all the wiring harnesses. I would appreciate any suggestions. Since I live in Canada I find ordering from the states too expensive.

I have just purchased a 68 Camaro Convertible with an RS option. It is very driveable and I want to restore like yours. It has the original 275HP/327, powerglide and rearend. Did you do the work yourself or was it restored at a Classic Restoration shop Thanks and NICE CAR!!!!

excellent job on the car! restoring a 1967 myself coupe w/327 got it from the orignal owner w/tags sales reciept from 1967 and every registration from 1967.By the way in 1967 tags were only 3$. car looks good.best luck with to el camino ,had a 1972 SS myself in high school.

I added OEM power disc brakes to my 68 SS conv. last year, during my second restoration since I bought it in 1980. It made a big difference in the stopping power. One of your pictures shows power drum brakes, did you ever upgrade? Car looks great in blue. br>

What a coincidence --- I'm in the middlle of rebuilding a 68 Camaro, convertable. Originally, it was a six cylinder, along the way someone dropped a reworked 327 with a Muncie 4 speed in it. Noticed on one of your pictures you maintained drum brakes; hav you changed out to disc yet? Also what have you done in the way of a air conditioner and heating unit --- original ? Did you replace the four milk shakers, is it necessary, and where did you find them? What's your next project?

Personaly I love Comaros and I own a 1968 red comaro with a 550 horse engine. She'll do 8.43 seconds in the quarter mile with a top speed of 147 on the quarter mile strech. Well I'll be back soon. Later.
