Steve is from Bloomington Indiana. "The King" Is considered the greatest Sprint Car driver of all time. Steve had his worst year,in his World of Outlaw career, in 1997.� Last season he won 5 "A" features, with 62 top-ten finishes, including 43 top-five finishes. "The King" Finished 3rd. in The Pennzoil World of Outlaw point standings in the 1997 season. Last year he won his 4th. $50,000 Kings Royal championship at Eldora Speedway. He has won 14 World of Outlaw championships, which were in 1978, 1979, 1980 then again in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988. The championships then started once again in 1990 and ran through 1994. Steve has won 418 "A" Features in his Pennzoil World of Outlaws career. "The King" passed the $5 million mark in career purse earnings in 1997.
