The Hookatoo

F-150
Lightning

Imagine launching a 4400 lb. truck down a 1/4 mile of asphalt in mid-low 15 seconds. It happens every day if you own a Ford Lightning. But...what if you could do it under 13 seconds... Jeff doesn't just imagine it, he does it...with style! With a goal of mid-low 12 second 1/4 mile times, its been a case of trial & error, searching for the right combination of engine components.

The Hookatoo Lightning's appearance has been enhanced with a Down's Ford roll pan, and Steeda 2" drop shackles for the rear. The Rancho traction bars, & Bassani exhaust, while being perfomance oriented, add to the intimidating appearance.

Under the hood, the Ford Motorsport aluminum valve covers sit in the shadow of a Kenne Bell Whipplecharger. Some unseen pieces to the performance puzzle are the Pro-M Mass-Air conversion kit, Johnson Motorsports' computer chip, ported & matched Ford Motorsport aluminum GT40 heads, & a Cam Motion custom roller cam.

The Hookatoo Lightning turned an impressive [email protected] in the 1/4 mile at the Baton Rouge Ford Fun Weekend. Jeff ran the Whipplecharger @ 9 pounds of boost & the stock Firestone Firehawk GTAs @ 20 pounds of air pressure. Although Jeff feels his Lightning didn't run to its full potential, he was proud to take home the Runner's Up Trophy in the Modified Lightning class.
